Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant

Location: On-site (No remote work option available)

Job Type: Full-Time

Education:

College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to 2 years

Experience:

Experience required

Responsibilities:

Assist co-workers with housekeeping and cooking duties
Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
Maintain daycare equipment
Support early childhood educators in implementing programs that promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
Assist in keeping records
Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
Guide and support children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Submit written observations on children to educators or supervisors
Attend staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and any issues
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
Plan and maintain an environment that ensures the health, safety, and well-being of children
Supervise and care for children

Credentials:

Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1)
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
First Aid Certificate
