Job title: Mechanic Helper (NOC: 75119)

Job Location: Abbotsford, BC

Salary: $22.82/Hourly for 30-40 hours per week

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Start Date of Employment: ASAP

Job Brief:

Ferndale Transport is looking for mechanic helpers to join our team and help mechanics with vehicle maintenance tasks, such as an oil change, tire rotation or equipment repair.

 

Job Duties:

• Move tools, equipment, and other materials to and from storage and work areas
• Perform mechanical repairs or work under supervision of a mechanic to repair or replace tires, batteries, and other accessories
• Assist mechanics with lifting and maneuvering heavy parts and components
• Disassemble simple components and clean parts for reassembly
• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to established safety procedures
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing etc.
• Inspect, repair, change and rotate tires
• Check fluid levels and replace oil, water, battery, and other fluids as needed
• Request parts and tools for mechanics as needed
• Clean shop floors, stalls, driveways, tools, and equipment

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma may be required, not mandatory
• On-the-job training will be provided

 

Skills:

• Ability to diagnose minor mechanical problems and perform repairs under supervision
• Ability to operate tools and equipment involved in vehicle repair
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts
• Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
